It's Catherine Aaron from the Nedder Group at Coldwell Banker, and I have some tips for you. Not the financial kind of tip but the home selling kind of tip.

I am sharing some ideas for you for presenting your home to the market when you're ready to list it and making it most attractive to buyers.

Clean and Declutter

My first tip would be to clean and declutter. Very important. Remove all of your small personal items.

Clean the surfaces. Keep it simple. Family photographs - as lovely as they are - the buyer wants to come into your home and imagine their life there. That's their aspiration. They want to be thinking about how they will live in your home and it’s hard to do that when they can see your family living there,

Lighting Is Key

Keep it light and bright. Get all of the shades and curtains open. Very few of us want to live in a cave, so try to show off and enhance any natural lighting the home has to offer.

Neutralize

If you have any rooms with wacky wallpaper or bright paint colors, it's a very good idea to paint them all a nice neutral color. It'll lighten up the space, make it seem bigger, and make it fresh and clean and feel new which is really important.

Appealing Outdoors

Curb appeal also is very important, and it’s something that’s simple to improve quickly. If you go to a big box store, buy a pair of square tall planters, put in some greenery. For this area I recommend a boxwood tree or something that's very easy to take care of; it's not expensive, and it does not take a lot of time and effort to do that. I've done it myself; takes about an hour to put it all together and plant it, put it by the front door. It'll look amazing and new, and it adds a new life to the front of the house which is also very important.

Splurge on Photography

Professional photography makes a world of difference and that will definitely help present your home in its best possible light. High-quality photography will entice buyers into coming to see your home. I’ve seen people pass over amazing homes just because of the quality of the listing photos, so don’t be afraid to invest in the photography. I have seen it pay off big time.
